Shipping is free within the contiguous U.S.  Please contact us if you live outside of this area and we will work with you to determine additional costs, duty and taxes.  There may be occasions when an ‘oversize fee’ is added to cover certain additional shipping costs.

Delivery of your rug will most likely be via FedEx, UPS, USPS, or LTL freight carrier. 

We strive to ship an item within 1-3 days of receiving the order, depending on what day of the week that the order is received, and what method will be used for shipping.  Packages should arrive to you 3-7 days after ordering.  Oversize items that need to ship LTL freight carrier usually take a little longer (5+ days) than Fed Ex, UPS and USPS.


Contact us and we will work with you to ascertain how quickly, and how much it would cost to expedite shipping.  In certain circumstances, we have been known to get a rug to its destination overnight.


Fed Ex, UPS deliver package to your door, as they would with any other packages you may receive.  In the case of an oversize item that is sent via LTL specialized freight carrier, the driver is responsible to deliver the package to the inside of your front door, but no further. . In most cases, these oversize freight carriers will call you prior to delivering your order to arrange a delivery appointment during regular business hours.


  1.  Customer is responsible for return shipping and packaging. 
  2.  Any rug bought is granted our 15-day money back guarantee.  Within 15 calendar days of delivery, rugs may be returned for a full refund.  If the rug has not been returned within 15 calendar days, or is not returned in unused & undamaged condition, no refund will be issued.  We will, however, help in any way we can to assist you in filing an insurance claim.
  3. Customer MUST contact us prior to returning any item and receive a RETURN AUTHORIZARION (RA) NUMBER.  At that time, we will provide you with complete instructions for returning your rug or other item.
  4. Rug must be returned in its original packaging (box, bag, etc) if at all possible.  We will provide an additional heavy duty plastic tarp-like bag with your purchase in case you need that for return packaging.
  5. We highly recommend that you buy insurance and confirm receipt of tracking information for all returns as you, the customer, is responsible for any/all issues that may come about in the return process. 
  6. If a rug is returned to us damaged, we will not be able to issue a refund, but we will assist you in any way possible with filing an insurance claim. Rugs returned dirty or damaged due to inadequate return packaging will not be fully refunded.
  7. Our customers have used the following services for return of their rug:  Fed Ex (either drop or pick-up) UPS (either drop or pick-up), USPS, freight companies.  Many factors go in to the cost to return a rug – including weight, length, width, fuel charge, distance, packing materials used.
  8. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns from outside the U.S. at this time.


The easiest way to pack your item for return is to use the original packing material.  If that material (box, plastic bag, etc) is not available, we will also have included a plastic bag in your original packaging as an option.  . If you cannot reuse the packaging, a heavy-duty disposable plastic painter's tarp is a worthy substitute. Make sure to remove any/all original packing labels before shipping your rug back to us.   Boxing the item is also an option.  We do not make any assumptions about the least expensive way to return an item, even though we include the plastic bag as an option.  Please check with carriers for the least expensive option.  The weight of the item can be found on the original pack-slip or email confirmation.


If you find yourself in the Tampa  Bay area, you are welcome to return a rug directly to our showroom at no cost to you.  Contact us if you want to know about pick-up returns for a fee (most of the time, this is much less than sending by a carrier).

It is unusual, but on occasion a rug arrives to you that has been damaged in transit.  Please take pictures, REFUSE the item, and contact us ASAP.  If you are not home when a damaged item is delivered, take digital pictures (with your phone is fine), SAVE the original damaged packaging, and contact us as soon as possible.  We must hear from you within 3 days of receiving a damaged package.

If you discover that your rug is damaged/defective or you’ve received an incorrect item once you open and view the item, please contact us and we will work with you to pick-up and costs related to return and replacement of the IDENTICAL PRODUCT.  Keep in mind, Rugs of the World is VERY thorough in checking for any issues before the rug is sent to you, which includes keeping picture files. 


We collect sales tax on all orders in all states.


As soon as you have initiated your return, please contact us via email with your tracking information.   Once we have received the returned item, we endeavor to inspect the item and issue a refund within 5 days of receipt of the returned item to our warehouse.  If the item is being returned somewhere other than our warehouse (directly to a manufacturer, other vendor, etc.), it could take up to 10 days after receipt of the item for a refund to be issued.  All refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.


The bane of all of our existence is that we all see color differently as well as the color difference observed depending on computer monitors, phone screens, etc.  The digital images we display have the most accurate color possible.  We endeavor to provide as much information in our pictures and in our descriptions to assist you in making the best design decision.  We cannot be responsible for variations in color between the actual product and your screen. Please be advised that in some cases patterns and colors may vary according to size.
